Robinson Center

Brand Identity

The historic 1939 Robinson Center’s lavish $70 million renovation has made it the crown jewel for performances, meetings and events of all types in Little Rock, Arkansas. A world-class concert and performing arts venue, a state-of-the art meeting facility and an anchor of Little Rock’s downtown vibe, Robinson Center never disappoints.

Tasked with rebranding and visualizing an events mailer taught me new skills in Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. My original thoughts were to to combine Little Rock's small town feel with an upscale, modern twist.

Current Logo

Taking inspiration from the original logo, I designed concepts that include

similar aspects like a flourish on the "R" or the roman columns. Two different identities came to mind: capturing a small historic town with a respectable reputation or a modernfresh updated feel. Going with the latter identity, I retouched the leg flourish on the "R" and stacked the type below

the logo mark.

Next on the to-do list was creating a branding guideline. Included in the guideline is a set of deliverables that demonstrates how the logos work on various surfaces. This is an important step to ensure that the brand is consistent and the client understands how to use the logo, logomarks, colors, and which type to use for certain text. Choosing a type for the logo and body copy was especially important for the next step of designing an event mailer.
